There was a flavor for all taste buds Saturday at a fundraiser in Raleigh.
Ray Price Harley-Davidson and Freedom Biker Church hosted the Wild Buffalo Wing Cook-Off.
It’s a fundraiser for the Duke Children’s Miracle Network and All-Star Ride For Life.
Bikers from all over – even other states – came.
For $5, they enjoyed all they could eat Buffalo wings from 12 local chefs and community groups – and cast their ballots for their favorite wings.
CBS North Carolina talked with last year’s “People’s Choice Winners” – Big Belly’s Cooking Team from Goldsboro.
They say you want the wings crispy… with a little sweet and a little heat – but not too much.
For them – the charity aspect is the sweetest thing about the competition.
“We enjoy it. Anytime you’re helping kids, you can’t do no better. So, that’s the way we look at it and anytime we can raise money to help them, we will. We do it to have fun,” said Robert Radford with Big Belly’s Cooking team.
First place received a $500 trophy.
Organizers also held a blood drive.
